Men's Superleague

Dave Weaver 31     Kareem Lewis 35
Dave Schoultz 29     Rock Winston 17

Esat Telecom Demons  92(47)   82(49) Hibernian UCD Marian
John Estick 31      Neville Charles 18
Braulio Arias Hernandez 27    Duane Jones 17
Joseph McKenny 20     Drew Cooper 17
A tight first half with UCD finishing the first half 2 up. In the third quarter Demons were down by 6 points when Hernandez went on a scoring spree and scored 12 points in a row to bring Demons 6 in front. This was the turning point in the game and Demons never looked back.

Team Kerry Spring Water 80(47)   72(25) Tolka Rovers
Terry Smith 28     Greg Haffner 25
John Teahon 28     Lenny McMillan 18
Shane Horgan 13     Randall Mounts 15

Kerry Spring Shot out of the boxes in the first half and finished it with a huge 22 point lead.
In the second quarter Tolka came back fighting hard but the lead was too much and they lost the game by a respectable 8 points.

Denny Notre Dame  73(33)   56(30) Star of the Sea
Eric Blair 27      Ewen McGrattan 14
Ciaran Dempsey 16     J Leahy 12
D Sealy 10      Neal McCotter 8

Denny had a convincing win over Star of the Sea in the top of the table clash at the National Arena. Star got off to the best possible start, springing into an 11-2 lead courtesy of three early three-pointers from Ewan McGrattan. Anthony Jenkins had to leave the game early in the 1st quarter with a recurrence of a bad back injury, but Denny's Irish players responded and with Eric Blair hitting 5 and Ciaran Dempsey hitting 4 points got Denny back into the game.
In the 2nd quarter Denny upped the pace and Eric Blair moved to 15 points. With help from Albert Corrigan and Tony McDonagh, Denny had a slender lead at half time.
The third quarter was tight with the lead changing hands 4 times as first Star and then Denny took the lead. At the end of the quarter Denny were up by 42-40.
In the final quarter Denny, with Brian Benjamin becoming ever more effective, took control of the game. Time and again he drove down the court to set up scores, draw fouls and make lay-ups. Denny pushed the lead out to 15 mid way through the quarter and Star were reduced to shooting from the three-point line in an effort to get back into the match.
All in all a great win for Denny, to keep their title challenge alive. A bad loss for Star who must try to recover before visiting Killester on Sunday.

Clare Jets   74(39)   99(44) Neptune
Michael Ayanbadjejo 26    Rasuel McKune 22
Anthony Pieper 20     Stephen McCarthy 18
Lester Hunt 18     Ricardo Leonard 13

St Vincent’s   76(32)   66(28) Sligo Dairies
Brian Tonkovich 27     Chris Doyle 22
Stephen McGuirk 12     Andy Wilmott 20
Dave Donnelly 7     Shane O'Mara 11

The first half was very even with nothing between the teams. Vincent's upped the pace in the third quarter. They totally took control of the game and finished the third quarter in the lead at 57-44. From here on in there was no real competition with Vincent's going 20 up at one stage in the final quarter.

Killester   70(38)   58(20) Star of the Sea
Dave Weaver 23     John Leahy 22
Damon Shoultz 21     Scott Summersgill 11
Ed Randoph 14     Eamon Mc Ilhenny 10

Killester made up for their controversial loss to Star in Belfast recently with a 70-58 victory at the IWA making it 2 victories at the weekend.
Killester had the better of the first half leading 21-8 at the end of the first quarter and 38-20 at the end of the half. Ed Randolph, Damon Shoultz and Dave Weaver were dominant against a tired looking Star. Both teams were involved in double up's over the weekend but the extra 24 hours stood Killester in good stead.
Star came back in the third quarter when the home side had their customary lapse. With John Leahy and Scott Summersgill hitting crucial points it was back to 50-44. Killester came out revitalised in the final quarter and came out easy winners by 12 points.

Dungannon   81(32)   67(28) Waterford Crystal
Brad Wedel 20     Reggie Scott 25
Trevor Smullen 17     Dean Kavanagh 11
Chris Pagan 12     Rosco Patterson 11
Players Fouled Out:
       Roscoe Patterson (1:46)

Dungannon were always in control with Brad Wedel playing outstanding basketball in both offence and defence. He kept Roscoe Patterson well under wraps. Trevor Smullen also had a great game. Dungannon went into foul trouble at the end of the third quarter and the coach played the bench in the final quarter. Crystal were in foul trouble in the final quarter. Crystal seemed off colour throughout the game and Dungannon had a good win.

Clare Jets    94(40)   86(45) Esat Telecom Demons
Mike Ayanbadjejo 29     Braulio Arias Hernandez 29
Anthony Pieper 33     Joseph McKenny 19
Lester Hunt 22     Shane Couglan 14

A close game throughout with the lead changing hands many times. Both teams were on team fouls in the final quarter. A lot of free throws in the final second but Jets came out winners in the end.

A close match in the first quarter with UL going in front 20-18. In the second quarter Meteors came back and took the lead at half time. Avonmore Snowcream Wildcats   97(45)  56(29) Crusaders

Killester   54(31)   65(31) Tolka Rovers

June Blount 11     Angie McNally 11
Laura Murphy 11     Sharon Kelly 11

Players fouled out:
Gillian Ennis (7:30 to go in last quarter)
Exciting game throughout. Killester belied their league position and gave Tolka a run for their money. In the first quarter they went into the lead by 19-13.
Tolka came back in the second half and leveled the score at half time. The third quarter was fairly even with both sides playing well. In the fourth quarter Gillian Ennis (Killester's top scorer on 19) was fouled out with 7 and a half minutes left on the clock. Killester were then in foul trouble as a team. This spelled their doom as Tolka scored 6 points from the free throw line in the last 2 minutes. Tolka showed their fitness and came away with a good win.
