Swiss sliced open by Bullets

FIBA Champion's Cup, Western Conference, Group A

Fribourg (SUI) 63 (12,37,50) (Baniak 20, Dar-Ziv 14, Ceresa 10)
Birmingham Bullets 70 (17,35,55) (Jackson 21, Rolston/Henlan 11)

Maybe talking does help.

Therapy paid off for Birmingham Bullets' hopes of progressing to the next phase of FIBA's Champion's Cup were boosted by a 70-63 success away to Swiss side Fribourg on Tuesday evening.

The BBL outfit edged the early exchanges but the hosts came back in a close first half to lead 37-35 at half-time.

Bullets fought back to lead 55-50 heading into the fourth quarter and then started the final period brightly with an 8-2 tear to set themselves up nicely.

The closest Fribourg got was two points at 63-65 with 40 seconds left, but Kyle Rolston ensured victory with two successfully converted free throws.

"We played with so much heart and desire, it was totally different to our last couple of games," coach Tony Garbelotto told the Birmingham Mail.

Michael Jackson led all scorers with 21 points for the Bullets. Bullets have just one more game in Group A, that against Dijon next Tuesday, with qualification on the line.

The French lost 92-80 to Oliveirense to stay third in the Group A table and lie one win behind Birmingham (6-3).
