Newcastle Eagles took posession of fourth spot in the BBL Championship after sending Thames Valley Tigers to their lowest placing of the campaign with a 98-78 win on Friday night in the north east of England.

The Eagles took control of the game after building on a double digit first quarter advantage with a 15-6 start to the second quarter which put considerable daylight between the teams at 44-25. 

Despite Barry Bowman pouring in 29 points the Tigers could get no closer than 10 in the final quarter at 65-55 after scoring the first two baskets of the stanza.
