Brighton Bears claimed a 101-105 victory over Thames Valley Tigers in the opening game of this season's BBL Trophy.

It was a real game of two halves, Thames Valley pouring in 42 second quarter points including five
threes from Michael Nurse to lead 68-43 just before the break. But Bears roared back in the third to
lead 82-80 before the quarter was out. Bears hit the game's last four points to secure the win.

Barry Bowman (23) and Michael Nurse (22) scored 41 points between them in the first half, but Sterling Davis (30) and Randy Duck (27) were the game's leading scorers.
