Duck on fire as Brighton end Euro run

ULEB Cup, Group F
Brighton Bears 112 (19,34,52) (Duck 49, Warren 23, Siemon 10)
Cholet Basket (FRA) 103 (18,34,55) (Fletcher 24, Gababale 19, Hayes 18)
AFTER DOUBLE OVERTIME
(81-81 at the end of regulation, 93-93 at end of 1st period of overtime)

49 points from Randy Duck saw that Brighton Bears ended their ULEB Cup campaign with a nailbiting 112-103 double OT win over Cholet Basket of France on Tuesday night on the south coast.

Unfortunately the result was not enough to see them advance to the next stage but after losing their opening five encounters they finished with a respectable 4-6 record.

The Bears put together a late 9-2 burst to force the extra period after Cholet had put daylight between the teams for the first time late in the final stanza.

Once in overtime the Bears looked in trouble having already  lost Jason Siemon to foul trouble in regulation time, he was joined by starters Andrew Alleyne, Kendrick Warren and Sullivan Phillips who all fouled out in the first period of overtime. Bears guard Duck
proved the hero maintaining his cool from the charity stripe to force the game into double overtime.

The Bears found their feet early in the second extra period with the  opening 7 points including three pointers from Mike Brown and Yorrick Williams and despite the French side trimming the lead to just 3 shortly after Duck settled the home side with some fine long range shooting.

The Bears captain's evening was however to have one final twist as he was carried off inside the final minute with a severe groin strain that may leave him sidelined.
