Rhondda Rebels' FIBA Cup campaign ended on a disappointingly low note on Thursday night in Spain as the Welsh outfit were thrashed 78-56 by Mann Zaragoza to finish with a 1-5 record.
With the hosts requiring a victory to have any hope of securing a top two berth in the group, Steve Williams' side found themselves under pressure from the start and swiftly fell into a 12 point deficit from which they could not recover.
It was all to no avail, ultimately, for Zaragoza with Lille's narrow 69-66 victory in the other group game ensuring that those two teams would grab the qualifying spots in Group C with four wins from their six starts.
For the Rebels, a game-high 21 points from Greek star Anastasia Kostaki barely held the Spaniards in check as they built up a 47-26 half-time lead.
As in Italy last week, Rhondda rallied a little in third quarter but it was to little avail as another foreign stint came to a close.
