Waterford top season honour roll

Mark Woods in Dublin

Waterford Crystal coach Michael Evans has pulled off a deserved award after being named as Coach of the Year at Irish Basketball's annual Awards ceremony. His American star Eric Blair matched his nod from Britball's readers by scooping Foreign Player of the Year while club mate Dean Kavanagh  made it a hat trick for the south east side by picking up Irish Men's Player of the Season.

There was further joy for the city as Snowcream Wildcats were recognised for the impressive development system as ESB Women's Club of the year, while Denny Notre Dame picked up the male equivalent.

Tolka Rovers headed the women's award roll, with coach Noel Murphy taking his professional prize and player Sharon Kelly named Women's MVP.
