Leicester Riders
improved their hopes of reaching the playoffs defeating Birmingham Bullets
94-80 to record their third victory in five outings.
The Riders posted
an early 10-2 burst to take an early 17-10 and look to be heading to the
half time locker room with a comfortable advantage before the Bullets scored
the final 7 of the first half to trim the advantage to 49-43. A 13-2 burst
for the visitors early in the third nudged them in front at 56-58 before
the Riders regained control scoring the next 11 points. Once inside the
final stanza a 9-0 burst for the Riders pulled them to safety extending
a 83-75 lead out to 92-75 late on. Riders Mike New again led all scorers
with 29 personal points.

London Towers kept
up the pressure on the top four in the BBL Championship with a 78-66 victory
over Milton Keynes Lions on Saturday night at Crystal Palace.
Towers welcomed back
influential point guard Rod Brown from injury and it was Brown who sparked
the crucial final quarter burst for the Towers as they finally saw off
a spirited Lions side late on in the fourth quarter. Lions Shawn Jamison
provided a bright spot for the visitors, he was the games leading scorer
with 27 points.

Thames Valley Tigers
notched their fourth consecutive BBL Championship victory with a 110-97
success over the Scottish Phoenix Honda Record Rocks.
The Tigers raced
out of the block in the first quarter with runs of 11-2, 7-0 and another
11-2 helping them to a 35-15 lead at the end of the quarter. The Rocks
fought back hard with a 14-4 run in the 2nd and a 11-5 burst in the 3rd
moving them to within 4 at 62-58. The Tigers however scored the next 11
to put daylight between the team and a 13-2 start to the final stanza secured
the win at 93-70. Tigers Jo James and Rocks Tony Windless then found themselves
ejected after an altercation with 7.43s remaining in the game.
