Hungary ease English out in OT thriller
Laszlo Nemeth left his homeland without the victory that he and his England team so craved as Hungary defeated England 96-89 in this crucial European Championship game in Budapest.
The visitors fought hard and the score was level after regulation time. In fact it took overtime, when Hungary produced the best basketball for the home side to win.
Ex-Chicago Bulls forward Kornell David was the Hungarian's top marksman with 26 points and seven rebounds, but the game's top scorer was London Towers star, Steve Bucknall, who hit 31 points.
This defeat for England means that whilst qualification is not impossible, it is quite difficult. They must now wait until November for the next round of matches.
