The Pitch: Be LeBron James by wearing his Kicks! OK, maybe that ain't going to happen (Billy's Boots was fiction, kids!) but the latest and greatest shoes from Cleveland's cavalier have hit the market with some hype. According to Nike: "The Best Sneaks a baller can get. Light, low and responsive without leaving the old school behind" So there you go. They have much to live up to. So we went extra hard to make sure it was deserved. The Look: The AZL2 isn't flash - but it looks great. Black top, red air-filled soles. And a velcro-fastening strip to keep the laces tucked away. If only the big word Nike wasn't quite so obvious emblazoned across. Didn't anyone tell Phil Knight that labels are out this season? But we even got admiring glances in da club with them on. Must be good. The Shoe: We took the Zoomer out and in and it did exactly as it promised on the tin. It is fantastically light. Highly responsive. And offers great support and balance in the air and on the ground. It's really really comfy to wear too, something which hasn't always been the case with Nike boots. Even that strips works. Thankfully the clever-but-dumb pull up ties which were on the VC Shox have been ditched for good old fashioned laces. If that's old school, we like it. The Verdict: If his LBJNess is the Prince of the NBA, then the Air Zoom 2 is the King of Shoes. Great to wear, great for hops, this is just first rate. Rating:
