BRITBALL BASKETBALL NEWS

BRITBALL PROFILE

Britball was set up in September 1996 to provide dedicated coverage on basketball in the British Isles via the Internet. It covers the Budweiser British League, Uni-ball / Sainsbury's Classic Cola and other competitions, NBL Leagues, Scottish Leagues and Cups, ESB Irish Leagues, international basketball and development in general. In the past two years, Britball has built strong relationships with its basketball partners in Britain and Ireland, and has a wide readership among basketball fans in the UK, Ireland and elsewhere.

Britball has two distinct parts. One is a direct email news mailing list sent usually on a daily basis to subscribers worldwide. At present, the list has over 350 members who get up to date news and results by email. This is also publicly available on the Internet, and distributed to various media sources worldwide. Secondly, there is www.britball.com, providing complete on-line coverage of domestic basketball which is free to access over the World Wide Web. The site is constantly updated and features reports, results and feature articles. Page Hit (access) statistics are currently achieving consistent levels of between 18000-22000 visits per week, with an audited monthly circulation of around 3,000 readers per month (April 1998). Access is free to the user.

Recent coverage has included:

The site is fully indexed with all the major Internet search tools and has been listed in major magazines including Slam Dunk. The site is also linked to many other club sites in the UK & Ireland, and is an approved resource linked from the Electronic Telegraph, Europe's most accessed Internet site, which attracts a large proportion of basketball consumers.

Advertising on Britball brings through a specialised audience, not only in the UK but worldwide. Rates are cost effective from only £30 per month for a linked spot (to another site), or £40 per month for an individual page. Quality coverage brings readers who return again and again and who use Britball as the first point of reference for domestic basketball news.

Copy on Britball remains the copyright of the individual authors, but we are pleased to discuss its syndication in other formats on a commercial or other basis. Coverage can also be provided on a dedicated basis to other media publications. (Copyright Notice)

Britball aims to continue with its policy of being the fastest, most up-to-date, most dedicated and most user friendly resource for basketball in the UK & Ireland. For more information contact Mark Woods on mark@britball.com
